Storing and traveling with your medication
How to store your vial at home, what to do when your box arrives, and simple tips for traveling with your medication and supplies.
When your box arrives
Your order ships directly from a licensed pharmacy, cold-packed, and usually arrives in about 2 business days after the pharmacy processes your prescription. Open it soon after it arrives and put the vial in the refrigerator. If anything looks damaged, warm or incorrect, contact us within 48 hours with a photo and we'll arrange a replacement.
Storing at home
- Keep the vial in the refrigerator.
- Don't freeze it. If it has been frozen, don't use it.
- Keep it in its box or away from light.
- Throw it away after the beyond-use date on the label, even if some is left.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
Before each shot
Check the label and the beyond-use date, and make sure the liquid is clear. Don't use it if it looks cloudy or has particles in it.
Signs your vial may not be OK
Don't use your medication, and contact us for advice, if:
- The liquid looks cloudy, discolored or has particles in it.
- The vial has been frozen, or left somewhere hot for a long time.
- The seal or rubber top is damaged.
- The beyond-use date on the label has passed.
Traveling
- Pack your vial in a small insulated bag with a cold pack. Don't let the vial touch the cold pack directly, so it doesn't freeze.
- Keep your medication in your carry-on bag when you fly, not in checked luggage.
- Bring your syringes, alcohol pads and a small travel sharps container.
- Keep the pharmacy label on the vial, and bring a copy of your prescription if you can.
- If your shot day falls while you're away, plan ahead. If you're unsure about timing, message our team.
Keeping track of your supplies
Check your supplies a week or so before you run low, so there's time to request a refill. You can request a refill by messaging or calling our team. If you're going away for a while, tell us your travel dates and we'll help you plan around your next delivery.
Sharps safety
Put used syringes straight into a sharps container, never in the regular trash or recycling. Never reuse or share needles. When your container is full, follow your local rules for disposal.
